Unseen Masterpieces (2012)

On July 24^th, 2012 I created eight paintings in the flood cellar at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. This happened in complete darkness and in the presence of two photographers. Immediately afterwards, I put each of them in an opaque envelope. Only after the paintings had been sealed into their envelopes, I lit a candle and used its flame to seal each envelope by sealing wax. The event’s preparation, performance and follow-up were documented photographically. So far no one, neither me nor anyone else, has seen one of the paintings or even parts of them.
